Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Locusnap application ("App," "We," "Us," or "Our") collects, uses, and protects your information while you use our App. Your privacy is a priority for us.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data based on your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a), CCPA Section 1798.100). By using the Locusnap App, you consent to the collection and use of your location data as described in this Privacy Policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time by disabling the App's permissions in your device settings.
1. Information We Collect
To provide the full functionality of the App, we request access to the following data:
1.1. Location Data
The primary purpose of our App is to provide location-based reminders. To achieve this, we use your location data.
- Location While Using the App: We collect data about your precise (Fine Location) or approximate (Coarse Location) location to allow you to create tasks tied to specific coordinates on the map.
- Background Location: We use your location data even when the App is closed or not actively in use. This is critical to ensure the App can send you timely reminders when you approach a specified location.
1.2. Device Technical Data and Internet Usage
- The App requires Internet access to download and display maps, as well as to operate geocoding services (converting coordinates to addresses and vice versa).
- We may collect anonymous technical data about your device (e.g., model, OS version) to ensure stable application performance and analyze errors.
1.3. Third-Party Data Sharing (Android)
- On Android, the App uses the
device_info_plus plugin to collect device information. This plugin may transmit device identifiers to Google Play Services for analytics and crash reporting purposes. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google processes this data.
2. How We Use Your Data
The collected information is used solely to provide and improve the App's functionality:
- Service Provision: To track your proximity to locations for which you have set reminders.
- Sending Notifications: To promptly send you local push notifications (Post Notifications) when you are within a set radius of a task's location.
- Background Operations: To ensure seamless location monitoring, the App uses permissions for background execution, ignoring battery optimization restrictions (Ignore Battery Optimizations), and automatically launching after a device reboot (Receive Boot Completed) so you never miss a reminder.
3. Data Storage and Protection
- Local Storage: All your tasks, reminders, and saved locations are stored exclusively locally on your device. We do not transmit your movement history or task data to any external servers.
- Third-Party Services: To display maps and perform geocoding, the App may use third-party services (OpenStreetMap and geocoding services). Data exchange with these services is limited strictly to the information necessary to display the required map fragment or search for an address.
- Data Retention: Your personal data (location data, tasks, and reminders) is retained for as long as the corresponding task exists in the App. Once you delete a task or uninstall the App, all associated personal data is permanently deleted from your device. We do not maintain backups of your location data on external servers.
4. Sharing Data with Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or location data with any third parties (such as advertisers or analytics companies), except where required by law.
Exception: On Android, the device_info_plus plugin may share device identifiers with Google Play Services. You can review Google's data practices in their Privacy Policy.
